What is this website?

This website initially started out as a wordpress blog : [http://exiler.net/], but that site was "accidentally" shut down, and i didn't make any back-ups, neither of the typing, nor of the actual CSS. Thankfully, my CSS was quite bad (though it was better than what is displayed in the web archive, omg...), which made the site not that grave of a loss, but my typing was a painful one, and i'm still sad about it. that's why i make back-ups of everything now (and you should, too!). i often use and abuse the web archive's [save page now] feature to feel a sense of safety and permanence in the digital and ephemeral .
in any case! after that site was taken down, i remade censorine.com to start anew. "censorine" was just a word that came to me, and i like how it's just one letter away from censoring. at the time, i was focused on the body as a sensory convent, a temple of sensation, and the near-homophone of sensory, censoring, sensoria, censorine was really soothing to me. after creating this site, i found that i really enjoyed the freedom of not being confined to wordpress, so i started building out more and more, until now, where it's a place i can tinker away and create webpages, sometimes coming here to escape real life, or to pour out my anxieties and fears.

How long did it take to make this website?

I've been working on this site since 2021, which means it's taken 3 years to get to this point. in my [archive], you can see how my css has developed and evolved. I often get questions about building a website, or how long things take, etc. and I think it's silly, unless it's like, a real technical question, because part of the joy of maintaing a website is that it is never finished.

Is this site accessible?

Probably not, though I try to make it mobile-friendly, and I try my best to ensure that text-heavy pages have reader mode available. Ultimately, this site is more of an art project, and while my goal is to balance aesthetics and accessibility, aesthetics definitely will and always do take precedence.

How did you make this site?

I handcode everything in [Visual Code Studio] and I maintain a bad practice of editing the CSS in the same HTML file. As far as hosting goes, I have a server from [vultur]. Most of the graphics have been sourced and used as original, while others have been edited using [Gimp]. For a more complete list of sources, fonts, and artworks used for this site, please visit the [site credits] page.

Can I quote/repost your writing or artwork?

Yes. It would be nice if you linked me back somehow, but I personally enjoy the thievery and anonymity of the internet. The rapid replication, almost asexual reproduction of media is so un-erotic that it becomes literally pornographic. That is to say, actually: EVERYTHING I POST HERE IS MINE AND YOU CANNOT STEAL FROM ME. Unless it's some image already copyrighted, as far as typing goes, and my collages and paintings, that is MINE and you OWE ME and I will HUNT YOU DOWN AND SUE YOUR ASS IF YOU TRY TO FUCK WITH ME. FUCK YOU.

Do you have a "web philosophy"?

No, I believe in inescapable fate. I believe that humanity is controlled by subtle forces, and that our inclination to outsource labor to machines, to engineer machines, to consume naturally occurring resources and synthesize them into synthetic imitations is part of a super-cosmic (hydro)carbon alchemical process. It's part of my Saturnian Luciferian faith. In any case, I promote absolute submission to surveillance and the hedonisitic pleasures of exhibitionism.

I have a question, request or suggestion. How can I contact you?

Feel free to leave a message in the [guestbook] or contact me telepathically. i can literally read minds and am inside of the air, oil and water, at all times. . .

Thank you for reading! xoxo
